The 431 Exchange
The 431 Exchange has established a Scholarship Fund to reward two adult applicants with cash grants for continuing or vocational education.
Scholarships awards will be $1,431 each in two different categories:
1) Legacy Award to a descendant of one of the 431 Graduates of the Adult Education Center
2) Scholarship Award to a qualifying Finalist
The Legacy Award is open to children/stepchildren, grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews of Adult Education Center graduates.
The Scholarship Award is open to all.
The deadline for applications is September 30th, 2019.
Grant winners will be announced no later than October 16th, 2019.
The grants will be offered on an objective and nondiscriminatory basis.
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older, and must register or be registered at a college, university, vocation or trade school.
The scholarship grant is to be used for study at an educational institution that normally maintains a regular faculty, curriculum and normally has a regularly organized body of students in attendance at the place where the educational activities are carried on.
Awarding the Winners
The 431 Exchange will request the selected winners’ reported results of each academic term, or program, related to the grant award.
The scholarship will be granted upon proof of enrollment at a qualified educational institute.
A recipient will be limited to using the grant funds for tuition, fees, books, supplies, equipment, room, board, travel, and research incidental to helping the recipient receive their education.
1. Please provide either:
An essay of 500 words or less, or
A video of up to two minutes in length
—about a person in your life who has inspired you to continue your educational journey.
2. Please provide two references from a school official, community member or otherwise trustworthy person who knows you, believes in you and believes in your educational goal.
